Bulletin N53 decembre 2024  The events in Syria, in addition to the more than real threat weighing on the survival of this country, dismembered and deprived of its military capabilities, have, among other things, the aim of diverting attention from what is happening in Gaza.
Do not talk about Gaza, do not give any indication
The media have, to tell the truth, never really talked about the genocide perpetrated in the Gaza Strip before, nor especially shed light on the issues at stake. They have all, whether they belong to the capitalists for whom Macron works (LCI, CNews, BFM) or whether they have attached a public service label, held roughly the same line, which can be summed up in a few sentences:
- It all started on October 7, 2023.
- Israel defends itself against a “terrorist” attack.
- Israel's right to live and defend itself is sacred
- Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East.
In this story, several words are forbidden, such as colonialism, resistance, and, of course, genocide. What is impossible to pass over in silence is said minimally, and is not dwelt on, such as the arrest warrant against the Zionist executioners that no one talks about anymore.
While on social networks, many videos are broadcast every day that show the latest atrocities of the Zionist fascist army, it is almost impossible to hear about them, much less see them, on the offices that organize "  information  ". The common slogan is "  Silence, we are killing!  "
As for the editorialists, they are leading, with increasing difficulty, but with a self-denial that must please their bosses, the fight to pass off the victims of Gaza as "  collateral damage  ". It is a matter of trying to prevent the recipients of the official propaganda they deliver from understanding that the death of civilians, the eradication of Palestinians from Gaza are the real goal of the Zionists. And it is all the more difficult because the defenders of colonization and genocide are free to speak out and they do not hesitate to take responsibility. Thus we have Céline Pina who says: "  A bomb that explodes will undoubtedly kill children, but these children will not die with the impression that humanity has betrayed everything they had the right to expect  "; Grand Rabbi Korsia for whom "Israel does the job for all of us  " or Meyer Habib, who affirms: "A Jew in Judea-Samaria is not a colonist like a Frenchman in Algeria, he is on the land of his fathers  ."
The case of the film Yallah Gaza
The most significant symbol, even if it seems less excessive, of this generalized state of mind of politicians, "  columnists  " and "  journalists  " is the reasoned decision of the community of communes of Mornant, in the south of the Rhône department, to ban the screening of the film "  Yallah Gaza  ", broadcast from autumn 2023, filmed before the attack of the Palestinian Resistance against the colonial state on October 7, 2023. In addition to the usual pretexts: risk of disturbances to public order and rise of anti-Semitism, the management of the community of communes bases its refusal on the fact that, the film having been filmed before October 7, it would be "  out of context  " and therefore, its broadcast would not be relevant. Note that the local elected officials of the Rhône did not invent anything. The documentary film, which traces the daily life of Gazans under blockade, had earned, during one of its first broadcasts, in early November 2023, this unanswerable comment from the official newspaper of the Bourgeoisie, Le Monde  : "  Roland Nurier's documentary, made before October 7, suffers from a bias that prevents the conflict from being made intelligible.  " However, in the film, the numerous testimonies of Palestinians in Gaza are put into perspective with the analyses of local political leaders, historians, journalists, Israelis, and lawyers specializing in Palestine/Israel. We see Gazans talking about their daily lives, geopolitics, religion, Zionism, international law, in short, all the elements necessary to understand the experience of this Palestinian society and its very anxiety-provoking environment. The director's goal was, in particular, "  to grasp their resilience so that despair does not set in and to understand how this flame of culture and land is transmitted from generation to generation  ." Perhaps it is this paragraph from the film's presentation that did not please the guardians of the temple of "  imperialist truth  " that are the "  journalists  " of Le Monde  : "  Demystifying prejudices, twisting the neck of "ready-made thinking" and testifying that Gaza is a society that lives in a totally abnormal environment, this is what Yallah Gaza proposes.  "
The truth is coming out, despite everything
The rearguard action being fought by the lapdogs of Western imperialism is doomed to defeat. More and more eyes are opening. If not everyone has yet understood the profound nature of the war in Palestine, more and more workers are seeing clearly that the Zionists are targeting journalists, health workers, UNRWA employees, civil defense or humanitarian workers and that, for the rest, they are killing civilians at random, not in strikes, according to the "soft" word of the dominant ideology, but in targeted bombings, not to mention snipers who target children while boasting of having killed a future terrorist. No one can say they don't know. By force of circumstances, admitting that Israel is committing genocide inevitably leads one to ask why.
The last bastion, to prevent us from realizing that we are facing a colonial conflict, facing a colonization of the worst kind, the colonization of substitution, is the agitation around Netanyahu and the "extreme right", developed by all the politicians of the left, in France, which has as a result and probably as a goal for some to hide the intrinsic responsibility of Zionism. Because the plan to expel the Palestinians from the Gaza Strip by all means was not born in Netanyahu's brain. As early as 1967, after the beginning of the occupation, the Zionist leaders of the time, all Labor, had thought about it. A recent article in Haaretz documented this reality.
Thus, Prime Minister Levi Eshkol was able to declare on June 19, 1967: "  I propose to annex Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip, although I would not say to do both things at the same time  "; his Minister of Defense, Moshe Dayan, seconded on June 25: "If we can expel 300,000 refugees from Gaza to other places ... we can annex Gaza without problem  ." The Minister of the Interior, Moshe Shapiro wondered, asking himself: "  Whether it were possible to transfer 200,000 of the refugees to El Arish or to settle some of them in the West Bank  ." El Arish is an Egyptian municipality in the Sinai, occupied by the Zionists after the Six-Day War. And finally, Foreign Minister Ygal Allons added: "  The entire Sinai area, not just El Arish, allows the settlement of all the refugees from Gaza, and in my opinion, we should not wait. We must start settling them.  "
For the Revolutionary Communist Party, denouncing the role of Zionism, explaining the colonial character of the conflict leads to the conviction that no peace will be possible as long as the Zionist colonial state exists. This conviction is fundamentally ours. Defending the Palestinian cause involves denouncing the ravages of Zionism and its indictment.
In conclusion
The Palestinians can only count on themselves and the pressure of workers and peoples. Thus, Jewish activists in New York obtained the cancellation of a meeting planned with the genocidal Gallant, who was on a quiet visit to the USA. So, the important thing is the continuation and amplification of solidarity struggles, in all their forms.
Like all supporters of the liberation of Palestine around the world, we continue and will continue, tirelessly, to demand an immediate and permanent ceasefire, as well as free access for humanitarians throughout the Gaza Strip, and the complete withdrawal of the occupation and colonization forces from the enclave. But this will not be enough.
A just peace means the dismantling of the colonies, the return of the refugees and an independent Palestinian state. What prevents such a peace is the existence of a colonial state. The workers of Israel cannot be free if they do not break with Zionism, if they continue to find themselves objectively in the camp of the colonizers. Solidarity with Palestine cannot be satisfied with general phrases about peace. We need a state where all inhabitants enjoy the same rights and can live together, regardless of their origin, in this case, a democratic Palestinian state. Similarly, the national liberation struggle of the Palestinian people does not need compassion, but real political support and actions of internationalist solidarity. And for France, where the Revolutionaries, as elsewhere, must first fight their capitalists, this begins with the political struggle against the support of French imperialism for the Zionist colonial state.
This is why the Revolutionary Communist Party intends to continue to bring together all those who want an immediate ceasefire to end the massacre of Palestinians and who speak out for peace. For us, this means supporting the fundamental demands of the Palestinian national liberation movement, especially after the assassination of one of its leaders: an immediate end to Zionist military aggression, the right of return for refugees and the formation of a Palestinian state on the territory of Mandatory Palestine.
