Sudan: new armed conflict against the Sudanese people

For several days Sudan has slipped into a war between the parties in power causing many civilian victims.

This struggle sees the regular army around Abdel Fattah al-Burhane, who in fact leads the ruling junta, clash with the Rapid Support Forces (FSR) led by Mohamed Handam Daglo known as Hemedti. This last militia has played a particularly violent role in the repression of the populations of Darfur. If, in 2019, when the demonstrations against the military and Islamist regime spread throughout the country, the leader of the FSR until then an ally of Omar Al-Bashir felt the tide turn and turned against him, in an alliance front, with General Al-Bourhane. This team of military factions which had committed to a return to civilian power now seems to want to appropriate it(1) and the fight for the latter has turned into a confrontation by arms. The Sudanese Communist Party which contributed to the overthrow of the dictatorship underlines in an analysis published on April 19 that adds to the personal rivalries of foreign influences. Through Egypt, the USA would have given the green light to the regular army to weaken the RSFs of which they suspect the proximity with Russia. A British newspaper even claimed that: "Wagner could play a role in the Sudan war for the benefit of Hamidti, who provides protection for the gold company 'Mirway', which is one of Wagner's mining companies, and is accused of smuggling gold from Sudan to Moscow to aid Russia's war on. This analysis is confirmed in a statement by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Sudan: "What is happening now is the continuation of the struggle for power and the wealth of the country, encouraged by certain foreign powers, and carried out by subservient armed groups to these foreign powers. These bloody clashes and their continuation are what our party has warned against, and they sow confusion and fear among the citizens." The Communist Party of Sudan measures that what is fundamentally at stake is the possibility or not of a process handing over power to the people who are the real winners of the dictatorship. He urges the democratic forces to face up and demand an end to the clashes:"The Sudanese Communist Party calls for unity to demand an immediate ceasefire, the exit of armies and militias from the cities, and to save the country from the bloody infighting between the generals. The unity of our people  , of all patriotic forces, forces of radical change and resistance committees to support the goals of the revolution and restore peace, security and stability is an urgent task It is the only basis for ending the crisis present day, recover the Revolution and establish the power of the people."

The Revolutionary COMMUNISTS party is in solidarity with the struggle of the people of Sudan and its communist party to put an end to military confrontations and foreign interventions, for the conquest of the economic, social and democratic rights of the Sudanese people, for the creation of conditions allowing them finally to define his own destiny.

(1) While Sudanese military leaders protect their interests, the people of the country suffer the repercussions.
According to some estimates, the Sudanese army controls around 80% of the country's economy, from crops to oil fields. These same economic interests fund military operations outside the government budget. A non-governmental organization shows that Hemidti and his family are heavily involved in the gold industry in Sudan. His brother and nephews own the Al Gunade gold producing company and Hemidti is a member of its board of directors. Hemidti's brother is deputy head of the RSF.

Mayotte: Death to the poor!
The newspaper Le Monde reports: "The judicial court of Mamoudzou suspended, Tuesday, April 25, the evacuation of a slum in Mayotte, the first stage of the vast operation "Wuambushu" ("recovery", in Mayotte) launched by the government. French to fight against delinquency and illegal immigration to the island."This operation was demanded by the authorities of Mayotte and strongly supported by the French colonial power and in particular by the Minister of the Interior Darmanin who dispatched more than two thousand men to carry out this operation of demolition of the slum and eviction of the men. , women and children to the Comoros from which they generally come. This operation was accompanied by a conditioning of particularly violent public opinion in France as in Mayotte, the vice-president of the departmental council even going so far as to recommend the murder of what he calls delinquents: " murder "delinquents" is a possible solution to stem the dynamics of violence in the archipelago."Basically, this war cry, death to the poor! reflects the nature of the colonial situation in Mayotte. An immigration fleeing the Comoros where extreme poverty reigns and a slightly less poor French colonial territory, where these immigrants hope to ensure their survival. The violence that reigns in Mayotte has one cause and only one: extreme poverty, 80% of the population lives below the poverty line. But neither the French colonial power nor the Comorian leaders talk about it, for them the only solution is state violence: war on the poor and not on the poverty that their policy engenders!
