N°14-02/06/2021 Jerusalem has been the epicenter of Palestinian protests harshly suppressed by Israeli occupation forces for several days.

They attack civilians, protesters and worshipers protesting against this situation. As usual, the Israeli authorities are increasing the pressure against the Palestinian people by bombarding Gaza with its share of civilian victims: more than 20 dead including nine children!
At the root of these protests is the plight of dozens of Palestinian families who are currently subjected to ethnic cleansing in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of east Jerusalem. East Jerusalem is one of the Palestinian territories illegally occupied by Israel since the 1967 war and is populated overwhelmingly by Palestinians. It is in the sights of the Israeli colonizer who wants to drive out the Palestinians and make it the capital of an " ethnic "Jewish state. In this sense, Israel has received strong support from the United States, which has set up its embassy there and similarly the agreements made with Gulf countries and Morocco have given the green light to Israel's policy of apartheid and colonization. Likewise France and the EU are no better. In this particular instance they are careful not to demand the application of UN resolutions and refuse to accept the slightest sanction against the policy of colonization and apartheid of Israel. Faced with the ongoing aggression against the Palestinians, France calls on the parties concerned to show "restraint!", de facto siding with the oppressors! It is therefore the orientations of Israeli policy and their imperialist support which are solely responsible for the situation ongoing in Jerusalem. After scrapping the Oslo accords, the various Israeli governments accentuated the spoliation of the Palestinians by developing an active policy of colonization of the Palestinian territories. This policy is fueling a reactionary and fascistic development in Israeli society as well as a political crisis of which the last legislative elections are the latest manifestation. Thus, despite several successive ballots, the stakes of which appeared more like a referendum for or against Netanyaou, what emerges is a rise in forces that radically support the total colonization of Palestine. This situation can only bring about a development that will be negative and dangerous for peace as Israel is an important stake for the Western imperialists' purpose to dominate the Middle and the Near East. The only way to prevent this development is first of all full solidarity with the struggles of the Palestinian people for their right to the existence of an independent Palestinian state and the resolute fight against imperialism in general and French imperialism in particular.
