Under the aegis of the USA, Morocco has just normalized its relations with Israel (¹). As a reminder, on September 15, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain signed the normalization agreements with Israel at the White House (United States) under the auspices of US President D. Trump.
Let us recall that Egypt has had relations with Israel since 1979 and with Jordan since1994.
During the signing of the normalization agreements between the UAE, Bahrain and Israel, D. Trump indicated that five or six more Arab countries would "soon" normalize their relations with Israel. In "return" for this recognition, Morocco received US support to annex Western Sahara in defiance of UN resolutions (²).
"The conflict in Western Sahara is a question of decolonization which can only be resolved through the application of international law," Algeria's foreign ministry reaffirmed in a statement on Saturday. The Polisario has been in a state of self-defense war since Morocco sent troops to the extreme south of the territory on November 13 to drive out a group of Sahrawi independence activists who blocked the only road to Mauritania. This road was built in violation of the 1991 ceasefire agreement signed under the aegis of the UN after 15 years of fighting, according to the Polisario which did not rule out "the extension of battles to the Moroccan territory”.
Morocco's recognition of the State of Israel forms part of the expansion of the imperialist alliance around the US and Israel. It is a bad blow against the Sahrawi people, it is also a blow against the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to a State. This recognition gives approval to the total colonization of Palestine and the existence of an apartheid, racist and colonial state. Algerian President Tebboune in declaring that the Palestinian question which he described as "sacred to us and to the Algerian people", "It is the key to the Middle East" sets the tone for what constitutes the front of resistance to US and Israeli imperialism. He stresses that without a settlement of the Palestinian problem, there can be no peace in the region.
Indeed, the Algerian leaders, including notably the Prime Minister, insist that the political situation is undergoing an evolution turned against Algeria:"Algeria is targeted (...) When citizens are told that there are foreign maneuvers that aim to destabilize the country, here is the proof, when we see that we are surrounded by dangers and wars. There is a will to bring Israeli and Zionist entity back to our borders,”Prime Minister Abdelaziz Djerad said. He also called on Algerians not to forget the dangers surrounding the regional environment due to the instability of the region, adding: "There are foreign operations outside the country that want to undermine the stability of the country".
In saying this, he is referring in particular to the military operations carried out by French imperialism in the southern Sahelian zone and to interventions in Libya. For its part, the National People's Army (ANP) insists on the dangers posed by the agreement between Morocco and Israel for security in the region. Thus, in its December issue, the influential journal of (ANP), El-Djeïch, calls on Algerians to "stand ready to face imminent threats". In its editorial, it mentions "the deterioration of the regional situation along our border strip and (of) the threat that certain enemy parties pose to the security of the region lately".
Our party, faithful to its anti-imperialist orientation and in solidarity with the peoples' liberation struggles, unreservedly condemns the Israeli-Moroccan agreement. It will endeavor to expose the purposes of domination and exploitation of the peoples of the region, including of the Moroccan people.
